Maruti counting on us

Ion Exchange Waterleau Ltd. won an order from Maruti Udyog Ltd. for turnkey execution of effluent treatment and recycle plant for their expansion facility at Manesar, Haryana, India. Effluent from all operations including paint shop will be treated in a centralised effluent treatment plant with capacity of 960 m3/day. The treatment process involves dissolved air flotation followed by aerobic biodegradation and regenerative filtration. The treated output will be reused for auxiliary applications and gardening.


Water bodies can breathe fresh air now

Ion Exchange Waterleau Ltd. is executing its first order for sewage treatment plant based on LUCAS technology at Bangalore, Karnataka, India. The project involves turnkey execution of sewage treatment plant of 4 MLD capacity designed for nutrient removal based on LUCAS technology. This unique technology guarantees ‘N’ & ‘P’ removal to the desired level and will be in place for restoration of Hebbal lake thus saving it from eutrophication. The treated sewage shall be used to replenish water losses from the water body spread over area of 150 hectares.

The added value of aesthetics will be utilised by the authorities to develop this spot as a tourist attraction earning revenue.

Successfully Commissioned

  • Effluent treatment plant for GPT Steel for their project at Mithirohar, near Gandhidham town in Kutch, Gujarat, India.
    The treatment consists of physico-chemical and biological systems to treat the acid and alkali waste apart from chrome waste generated in the plant.

  • Effluent treatment plant supplied to Gujarat Fluro Chemicals Ltd., Dahej for treating effluents from PTFE manufacturing.
    The fluoride-rich effluent stream, after segregated treatment for fluoride removal is passed through an INDION High Rate Solid Contact Calrifier (HRSCC) followed by an INDION fluoride removal resin column and softener. This is recycled back for cooling tower make up in a drive towards water conservation.


Corporate Office Inaugurated

The company’s corporate office at Navi Mumbai was formally inaugurated on February 19, 2006. Directors and senior executives of Ion Exchange Waterleau, Ion Exchange India and Waterleau, Belgium were present at the well attended inaugural function. A religious puja ceremony was followed by the lighting of the traditional lamp, cutting of the inaugural ribbon, distribution of silver plaques to commemorate the formation of the joint venture on September 3, 2005 and of silver coin mementoes to celebrate the office inauguration. The air was festive and the function permeated with enthusiastic, optimistic spirit on the success of the joint venture.


First Order Received
Ion Exchange Waterleau received its first order, from GPT Steel for effluent treatment at their project located at Mithirohar, near Gandhidham town in Kutch, Gujarat. Treatment will consist of physico chemical and biological systems to treat the acid and alkali waste apart from chrome waste generated in the plant. The contract is part of the GPT Steel’s total management requirement - the water treatment and waste water recycle component has been awarded to Ion Exchange India. 
While this is the joint venture’s first order in India, the large reference base of the Waterleau Group include many clients from India – EID Parry, Jubilant Organosys, Amit Alcohol, Mohan Breweries, to name just a few.
